and to rebuild the foundation of our Revolution.
The second
step will be to send an expedition to the North and in
conjunction with the friendly armies on the Yangtsekiang, and
in the southern and northern basins of the Yellow River, to
remove the criminal CHEUNG and overthrow and eliminate all
the bad influences which he relies upon for his power, so
that we may be free from all harm. As we recollect, our 4th
and 7th Armies have worked together in all times of
difficulty since the Northern Expedition. The blood our
late heroes have shed, has mixed together and cannot be
separated, and those who have survived showers of bullets and
have now managed to meet again in time of difficulty, will
never forget the grief they experienced in being driven to
dissension and separation. We will unanimously sacrifice
all within our power for our Kuomintang and Nation; we will
be unified in spirit, and will remain undivided to the end.
Under the awe-inspiring spirit of our late President and the
guidance of the Central Kuomintang, we will march hand in
hand with our allied armies, lead the van among the masses
to eliminate the gloom that has been hanging over our
Kuomintang and Nation and to remove the hardships of the
masses. Thus alive we shall be able to face the people and
dead we shall be able to face the martyrs. We issue this
manifesto with all respect and we anxiously await your
instructions.
